What We Cover, and the Standard Behind It

Judge a driving school on one thing before any of the rest. Is the person teaching you held to the same standard they are holding you to. Four things done to that standard beat a menu of twenty done for a brochure. Here is what we cover, in plain words.

Train the trainer

Instructors need teaching too, and they need keeping sharp. This is the work behind the work: bringing on new Approved Driving Instructors, and pulling experienced ones back to the standard when their own habits have quietly drifted. There is the rule, and there is the reason for the rule, and an instructor who cannot explain the second one has no business drilling the first. The person in your passenger seat should be measured against exactly what they are measuring you against.

Teach the driver

The main event. Learner lessons that follow the twelve-module Essential Driver Training syllabus, and go past it wherever you need the hours to reach the standard. Beginners who have never touched a clutch, and nervous returners who let a licence lapse and want the competence back. No judgement on either. Everyone was not yet once.

Tutorial videos

Short, plain how-to clips for the manoeuvres people ask about again and again: the hill start, the reverse around a corner, reading a roundabout. They show you the shape of a manoeuvre before you try it for real. They are not a substitute for time in the car, and anyone who tells you a clip makes you competent is selling you something.

Technical checks

That is the lot. Everything here points one way: getting you competent, and keeping you safe, in that order. That is the standard we are held to, so it is the standard you get.
